BBQ at 1st Infantry Division Headquarters Company in Di An Vietnam. October, 1965 soon after arrival in country. This scene wasn't rare throughout units during the war, Australian and Thailand troops were camped nearby and joined in when returned from their combat missions.
Fine Arts studies and a Vietnam Combat Artist assignment backs up my long career as an illustrator, designer and art director in the Washington, D.C. area.
