Description
Painting depicts Major Peter Knight, Ist Infantry Division US.Army who was killed leading his men in an attack on a Viet Cong bunker complex in Tay Ninh province, South Vietnam in 1966. Major Knight was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for his heroic action and leadership in repelling the enemy while saving so many of his men. Major Knight is a native of Key West, Florida.

Thank you Hanne. The subject of this painting, Peter Knight was a friend from my hometown of Key West, Florida. We were serving in the same Infantry Division in Vietnam, 1966 when he was killed. The painting is my tribute to him and so many other fellow soldiers who served and died in combat. Their valor and sacrifice should never be forgotten.
